Day 01: Arrival in Doha

Your Qatar adventure begins the moment you step off the plane at Hamad International Airport — one of the world’s most celebrated gateways. After clearing immigration and collecting your baggage, your private driver will be ready to welcome you and transfer you comfortably to your hotel in Doha. Check in, take a refreshing shower, and allow the journey’s fatigue to melt away. The rest of the day is entirely yours — no agenda, no schedule. Step out for a stroll along the Doha Corniche as the city lights begin to shimmer over the Arabian Gulf, pick up a warm karak chai from a roadside stall, or simply sink into the comfort of your room and let the anticipation build for the days ahead.

Day 02: Guided Doha City Tour

After a satisfying breakfast, your guided city tour of Doha begins — and it is a day that will shift your understanding of what this country is truly about. Your first destination is Souq Waqif, the ancient market at the very heart of old Doha. Walking through its narrow, winding lanes is a sensory experience — the scent of oud and cardamom in the air, stalls overflowing with hand-woven textiles, ornate birdcages, falconry equipment, and traditional Qatari spices at every turn. The restored mud-brick architecture gives the souq an atmosphere that feels genuinely timeless.

From the souq, your guide takes you to Katara Cultural Village — a stunning waterfront complex that serves as Qatar’s cultural heart. It houses theatres, mosques, art galleries, and a beautiful open amphitheatre, all designed in a style that fuses Islamic architecture with contemporary vision. The beachfront promenade here is one of Doha’s most photographed spaces, and rightly so.

The afternoon brings you to The Pearl-Qatar — the city’s most luxurious address and one of the most striking man-made islands in the world. Browse the marina-side boutiques, admire the pastel-hued apartment blocks rising above the water, stop for a coffee at one of its waterfront cafés, and soak in the sheer elegance of modern Qatar at its finest. You will also make a photo stop at the National Museum of Qatar, whose extraordinary desert rose-inspired architecture makes it one of the most photographed buildings in the country — even from the outside.

Day 03: Desert Safari Adventure

Day three is the one that gets the pulse racing. After breakfast, your desert-ready vehicle arrives to take you out of the city and into Qatar’s magnificent interior. The journey begins at Sealine Beach — a dramatic stretch of coastline where towering sand dunes cascade directly into the sea. Here, enjoy a short camel ride along the shoreline, taking in the wild beauty of this unique landscape before the adventure truly begins.

Next comes dune bashing — one of the most exhilarating experiences Qatar has to offer. Your skilled driver will navigate the towering dunes in a powerful 4×4 SUV, climbing steep crests and descending at heart-stopping angles as you grip the handle and laugh in equal measure. Once you have caught your breath, it is time for sandboarding — gliding down the steep face of a sand dune on a board is exactly as thrilling as it sounds, and even first-timers quickly find themselves hooked.

The afternoon culminates at Khor al Adaid — the Inland Sea — one of the rarest geographical phenomena on the planet. This vast saltwater inlet is accessible only through the desert, entirely surrounded by magnificent dunes on the Qatari side and visible across to the dunes of Saudi Arabia on the other. Day 04: Day at Leisure or Optional West Qatar Tour

The beauty of a five-day itinerary is the gift of a free day — and in Qatar, that is an opportunity not to be wasted. You can spend this day entirely at your own pace: revisit a favourite corner of Doha, explore the National Museum of Qatar at your leisure, discover the city’s thriving café culture, or simply relax by the hotel pool.

Alternatively, join our optional guided tour to western Qatar — a journey into one of the most remote and visually extraordinary parts of the country. The tour takes you to the Zekreet Peninsula, a vast stretch of desert dotted with surreal limestone formations that rise dramatically from the flat terrain. Among them is the celebrated Umbrella Rock — a naturally sculpted limestone arch that is a favourite among photographers and one of Qatar’s most iconic natural landmarks.

The tour’s cultural centrepiece is a visit to Richard Serra’s monumental land artwork, “East-West / West-East” — four enormous steel plates, each rising over 14 metres high, aligned across more than a kilometre of desert terrain within the Brouq Nature Reserve. The installation does not try to dominate the landscape — it engages it, drawing your eyes to the horizon and creating a viewing experience that changes entirely depending on where you stand. It is one of the most powerful works of public art anywhere in the world, and experiencing it in person is humbling in the best possible way.

The visa is issued at the airport upon arrival and is typically valid for 30 days, with the option to extend once for a further 30 days if you wish to stay longer.

Processing Time

The visa on arrival desk at Hamad International Airport is efficient and well-staffed. The process generally takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the volume of arrivals at the time. For added peace of mind, Indian travellers also have the option of applying for a Qatar e-Visa through the official Qatar government immigration portal before departure.
